Choice & Flexibility:
A Milton Difference
Many boarding schools require students to play three team sports every year, all four years. Milton is different. We believe that staying active should match each student’s interests and goals, so we offer a variety of options that go beyond traditional team sports.
Students can fulfill their PE requirement by choosing from:
Daytime PE classes – fitness concepts
Afternoon intramurals – casual, fun, and inclusive team play
Interscholastic athletics – competitive teams with a proud tradition of sportsmanship and achievement
Students can also stay active through these options:
Work with our strength and conditioning coaches
Serve as a team manager
Earn PE credit through participation in the Winter Dance Concert
Students can apply for an Alternative Sports Program (ASP) waiver (for one season per year) to earn credit for an activity that the school does not offer (e.g. figure skating, horseback riding, rowing, etc.).

Strength and Conditioning
Milton’s popular strength and conditioning program is a highlight of our athletics program. Our highly respected and talented trainers have built a program sought after by athletes across a variety of sports for its focus on building strength, preventing injury, and promoting overall fitness.

A Program for Every Athlete—and Non-Athlete
Our breadth of offerings ensures there’s something for everyone, from the fiercely competitive athlete to the student who simply wants to stay healthy and active. Whether it’s competing on the varsity soccer team, joining a casual intramural pickleball league, practicing yoga or working out in the weight room, Milton students find the activities that keep them active and engaged.
