to COLLEGE COUNSELING

At Milton, the college process is more than a set of deadlines—it is an opportunity for students to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Our college counselors take the time to understand each student as an individual, offering thoughtful, one-on-one guidance grounded in each student’s aspirations and priorities.

Through ongoing conversations and careful planning, students develop the clarity and confidence to make informed decisions and present themselves authentically throughout the admissions process.

Supporting the Whole Student

We believe that successful college outcomes begin with a strong sense of self and care for a student’s well-being. Our approach encourages students to reflect on their interests and goals, giving them the tools they need to express their true selves and own their choices. This helps students to stay grounded and focused throughout what can often be a complex process.

Experienced counselors, deeply engaged

Milton’s college counselors are fully integrated into the life of the school. Many live on campus as dorm parents, serve as academic advisors, and actively participate in school life, coaching and attending athletic events, performances, and student activities.

This daily connection allows our counselors to build meaningful relationships and offer guidance that reflects a deep understanding of each student’s experiences, strengths, and growth over time.

Navigating the College Admissions Process

Our college counseling program provides expert support at every stage and grade level in the Upper School, including:

Building balanced and thoughtful college lists
Developing authentic, compelling applications
Identifying opportunities that align with each student’s goals

While working directly with students to find the best possible fit for them, our college counseling team also provides regular updates and helpful resources for families, beginning as soon as they enter the Upper School.
